Contribution

para mi magazine, the lifestyle online magazine that celebrates the Latina experience, needs your help in its call for submission for the October, 2007 print issue. The theme is COURAGE and we invite writers and storytellers to submit stories. We invite the “never published”, “newly inspired”, “aspiring, first time or prolific author”, any age, any walk of life to submit their work.

What are we looking for? para mi is looking for submissions (800 words max) that explore stories of courage. What does courage mean to you? When have you needed courage for something in your own life? What stories of courage inspire you?

Submission Details:

• DEADLINE: Monday, August 6, 2007
• COMPENSATION:   Published work and the opportunity to be a part of the magazine is the only compensation we offer at this time.
• SELECTION PROCESS: Authors of articles chosen for publication will be contacted via e-mail and will be sent a "reprint submission" form.
• STORIES: 800 words max in 11pt Times Roman
• FORMAT : MS WORD COMPATIBLE, no zips or strange attachments, please
• VISUALS: JPEG format

A review of artistic endeavors, in theater, film or art, created by Latinos or prominently featuring Latinos

Essays dealing with the nature of relationships that can run the gamut from pets to parents to people and everything in between

Stories told through a parent's perspective about their experiences on the journey of parenthood

Your corner of the universe for anything and everything that has been left unsaid

Stories about childhood, childhood memories and the experiences that shape our future

Making a Difference
Articles on not-for-profit and non-profit organizations begun by Latinos or enhancing the lives of Latinos

Travel essays written by Latinos about their experiences abroad or by non-Latinos traveling to a Spanish speaking country. These essays touch upon the emotions and insight evoked by travel
